| The Virgin Gorda Baths, one of the B.V.I.s most famous landmarks, lies on the southwestern shore of Virgin Gorda. The Baths randomly placed large granite boulders form small grottoes and pools on the beachs edge, making delightful exploring and snorkelling. Two of the B.V.I.s most popular trails are to Sage Mountain on Tortola and Gorda Peak on Virgin Gorda. Veteran hikers walk up and down the islands beautiful mountain roads and ghuts, while the stroller can amble sedately through the many picturesque villages, such as Carrot Bay on Tortolas north shore Day sailing. Day sail yachts are an ideal way for hotel and guesthouse visitors to explore the B.V.I.s out-islands. They vary from roomy schooners to wide decked multihulls. J.R. ONeal Botanic Gardens are a cool and peaceful refuge located in the centre of Road Town. The beautiful 4-acre garden includes a lush array of indigenous and exotic tropical plants. Main Street is Road Towns primary shopping street. The narrow road, which runs through the centre of town, retains a great deal of West Indian charm with its colourful traditional wooden and stone buildings. Sights include the Sir Olva Georges Plaza and the 19th century Post Office. The VI Folk Museum houses a collection of Amerindian, Plantation era and Rhone artifacts. Government House. Once the Governors residence, this stately early 20th century building is open for tours and houses a small museum. Other Activities.
